Doctor Who: First Look at the New Ice Warriors

Good morning everyone! First, I'd like to thank you all for making my blog an already smashing success! Now, let's get down to some wibbly wobbly business.

Series 7B of Doctor Who kicks off March 30th, and I for one wish I had my own TARDIS to fast forward a few weeks. With the 50th anniversary special approaching, we are all on the receiving end of some awesome nostalgic media. And now, we are treated to a first real look at the revived Ice Warriors

Ice Warrior

The Ice Warriors (actually native Martians) first appeared in the Second Doctor series "The Ice Warriors" in 1967 and were last seen in 1974's "The Monster of Peladon". A brief mention by the Tenth Doctor in "The Waters of Mars" was the last time we heard of the militaristic Martians

Since Matt Smith based a lot of his performance as the Doctor on Patrick Troughton, it will be interesting to see how he handles the reemergence of one of the deadliest foes in Doctor Who history that originated during the Second Doctor's term.

For more on the Ice Warriors head over to a great article at SFX. I can't wait to see them in action!
